Public Records Notice
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater was created and exists pursuant to Chapter 36 of the Wisconsin Statutes. UW-Whitewater is governed by the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin and directed by the President of the UW System and the Chancellor of UW-Whitewater.
UW-Whitewater has designated a Public Records Custodian to meet its obligations under the Wisconsin Public Records Law (Wis. Stats. §§ 19.31-19.39). The Public Records Custodian is the legal custodian of all public records maintained at UW-Whitewater, except for those records owned and maintained by the UW-Whitewater Police Department.
Members of the public may obtain information, access to, or copies of public records by making a request via telephone, mail, or email to the Public Records Custodian during office hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

UW-Whitewater may bill requesters $0.25 for each copy made, but will not charge reproduction costs for electronic copies of records that exist in electronic format. In addition, a location fee may be charged if the cost to locate the record(s) in question is $50.00 or more. No fees will be charged for the cost of reviewing records for possible redaction or removal of confidential information. Requests that exceed a total cost of $5.00 may require prepayment. All requests will be processed as soon as practicable and without delay.
