Digital Accessibility
In April 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) issued a final rule updating its regulations for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The updated rule establishes specific requirements that state and local governments must meet to ensure their web content and mobile applications (apps) are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
At UW-Whitewater, the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Learning, Scholarship, and Technology (CATLST), Information Technology Services (ITS), and University Marketing and Communications (UMC) are leading efforts to ensure that university content meets these new accessibility standards. These units have developed a variety of resources to support academic staff, faculty, and university staff in creating and maintaining accessible digital content.
