Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence

The online Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence graduate certificate will help prepare students for strategic decision-making in the emerging field of digital marketing. Organizations are increasingly reliant on marketing efforts that leverage digital platforms to identify prospects, nurture the conversion from prospect to customer, and establish loyalty advocates. Students completing the certificate program will be prepared to manage the customer journey in the digital environment, including leveraging analytics and artificial intelligence. 

Note: Students in the graduate certificate in Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence may enroll in the Master of Business Administration at UW-Whitewater if they meet the normal criteria for that program. Certificate courses that are part of the MBA program may count toward completion of that degree at a later date.

Individuals that complete the Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence graduate certificate will be knowledgeable in the following areas:

  • The relationship between digital marketing, artificial intelligence (AI), and overall business and marketing strategy
  • Applying digital marketing and AI strategy to enhance firm competitiveness
  • Monitoring marketing efforts using a digital analytics measurement plan
  • Designing a customer journey map that integrates consumer insights to inform marketing strategy
  • Understanding the social and ethical issues related to using digital marketing and AI

Certificate Requirements:

Students must complete the four courses below (11 credits), which are all offered online. For course lista and descriptions, visit the Graduate Catalog.

  • MARKETNG 747: Marketing Strategy (2 credits)
  • MARKETNG 751: Consumer Insight and Customer Experience (3 credits)
  • MARKETNG 772: Digital Marketing (3 credits)
  • MARKETNG 777: Artificial Intelligence in Marketing (3 credits)

Students must also complete one course (3 credits) from the classes below, which are all offered online. 

  • ITSCM 774: Data Analytics and Business Intelligence (3 credits)
  • ITSCM 779: Visual Analytics for Business (3 credits)

Admission Requirements:

No GMAT required.

To qualify for admission to the certificate program in good standing, you must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited institution with an overall grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.75 or above.
