Confidential Resources

You do not have to navigate this experience alone. If you are unsure about what you are feeling or what you should do, you may want to speak with a confidential support resource. Confidential resources are available both on and off campus to help you make an informed choice about what is right for you. Conversations with university “confidential resources” are kept strictly confidential and, except in rare circumstances, will not be shared (including to faculty, coaches, parents, etc.) without explicit permission.

On-Campus Confidential for Students

University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS)

• UHCS specializes in addressing the unique needs of college students through a wide range of confidential counseling and health services. UHCS has licensed psychologists, counselors, and health professionals that provide a safe, supportive environment to help with various psychological, personal, and academic concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and more. They also offer health services such as treatment for illnesses and minor injuries, immunizations, contraceptives, STI testing, and referrals to specialists. All currently enrolled UW-Whitewater students are eligible for our services, and they respect and welcome students from all backgrounds.

New Beginnings APFV

New Beginnings APFV provides comprehensive, compassionate support and services to people affected by violent crimes - domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, harassment and human trafficking. This includes but is not limited to crisis intervention, legal advocacy, safety planning, individual counseling, housing advocacy, children's services, medical advocacy and information and referral to other relevant community resources.

The following resources are not confidential in nature, but they are private; your information will be kept private unless there is a need for another administrator to know, in order to help support you. Additionally, these resources have a duty to report to the University Title IX Coordinator.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

EAP provides you and members of your household with confidential resources to address personal/work-related concerns, assist with legal/financial situations or help with work-life balance. Access to EAP services is employer-paid. You do not need to be enrolled in the State Group Health Insurance Program to use the EAP services.
