Financial Literacy Center
The Financial Literacy Center (FLC) exists to provide personal finance and money management education to UW-W students and staff. Coaching session appointments are available and encouraged to obtain a better understanding of your personal finances. Whether you want to create a budget, learn to build and manage credit, make a plan to pay for your education, or understand student loan repayment, the FLC is here to provide financial information and resources during your time at UW-Whitewater.
Financial Wellness Coordinator: Jamie Busse
This is Jamie's 8th year working at UW Whitewater and her third year in her new role. She spent 6 years in the Student Financial Services while also working part time in the Financial Literacy office. She is interested in the financial impact college and money have on students and their families. She is eager to assist students with their financial issues and help educate the young adults to be fiscally responsible. Jamie's free time is spent camping with her husband and 3 kids, riding her motorcycle and spending time with family and friends.
2025-2026 Peer Financial Educators:
Caleb Bendixen:
Hello! This is my second year working as a Peer Financial Educator. I am currently a sophomore here at UW Whitewater and I'm focused on improving my classmates' knowledge, understanding, and excitement about personal finance. I am looking forward to working with anyone who has questions or is interested in anything finance related. In my free time I enjoy working out, hanging out with friends, watching sports, and being active.
Owen Bowers:
Hello! This is my second year working as a Peer Financial Educator. I am a senior here at UW Whitewater pursuing a degree in finance. I am very excited to help my classmates better understand their finances and answer any financial questions. I can't wait for the opportunity to meet with you all! In my free time, I love spending time in the outdoors as well as cheering on the Packers and Brewers!
Anthony Hoffmann:
Hello! This is my first year working as a Peer Financial Educator. I'm a freshman majoring in Finance here at UW-Whitewater, and I'm passionate about helping students strengthen their financial knowledge and confidence. I'm excited for the opportunity to assist fellow students with their finances and look forward to meeting with anyone who schedules an appointment! In my free time, I enjoy lifting weights, watching football, investing, and hiking.
Fanny Anguiano:
Hello! I’m a junior majoring in Marketing with a focus on Digital Marketing and AI, and this is my first year as a Peer Financial Educator. Having spent time in the workforce before returning to school, I know how confusing and overwhelming money management can feel, especially when juggling school, work, and life. I’m excited to help fellow students feel empowered, not intimidated, by their finances. My goal is to make money talk less stressful and a little more fun. Outside of work, I live happily outnumbered by my pets: two cats and a dog. I love traveling, working out, and diving into all things AI.
If interested in becoming a Peer Financial Educator for the 2026-2027 academic year, applications are available in our office or on our website.
