Jitters

Three students sit together in Jitters which is full of people and lit by small white lights strung on the ceiling.

Need a place to go drink coffee and milkshakes and study with friends? Looking to gain volunteer experience without having to leave campus? Want to show off your knowledge on super random topics? Jitters, our volunteer-run, night-time coffeehouse located in the Wells East residence hall, is a space where residents can go to grab a tasty drink while immersing themselves in a wide variety of student-focused events, such as trivia nights, open-mic performances, and game nights.

Jitters hosts trivia nights throughout the academic year, all with different themes, from facts about celebrities to video games. Impress your friends with your knowledge of miscellaneous facts, and possibly win some prizes!

Over the years, Jitters has hosted open-mic events for comedians, musicians, authors, and other performers to present their work to an audience within the cozy ambiance of the coffeehouse. Whether you are looking for a fun, free performance to attend, or for a place to gain experience performing for an audience, Jitters is the perfect place for fostering a wide range of creative expression.

Looking for an easy, collaborative volunteer experience? Get a glimpse into the work of a barista – taking orders, making drinks, and navigating the kitchen space – all while building connections with your fellow volunteers in a fun, easy-to-navigate environment.

Leadership Involvement Team

Six students laugh together as they sit at a table with a game board on it.

The Leadership Involvement Team (LIT) is a student-run organization within the residence halls dedicated to enhancing the on-campus living experience. It organizes social, educational, and recreational activities to build community and engagement among residents. Through these activities, LIT promotes leadership development, community building, skill enhancement and a supportive living environment.

Each residence hall has a LIT that is composed of multiple students, whose talents and interests vary, but they work together to create fun and engaging programs to help build a robust community within each residence hall complex.

Students who are interested can apply on Connect 2 and fill one of the many roles from marketing or programmer. University Housing tailors the experience and position based on what each student wants to get out of their LIT experience.

Participating in sponsored events and meetings in your residence hall is an excellent way to immerse yourself in campus life. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with other students in your community, advocate for policy implementation or changes, and build your skills in a wide variety of leadership-focused areas.

Residence Hall Association

Three people are outside with their arms raised and smiling at the camera.

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is a programming board that facilitates fun and engaging large-scale programs in an effort to connect all of the residence halls. RHA facilitates a variety of community-centered programs, including those focused on forming interpersonal relationships, providing creativity-based opportunities, strengthening cultural awareness skills, and overall just having fun!
