Session for Public and Nonprofit Management Prospective Graduate Students, November 3, 2023
On Friday, November 3, 2023, Professor Doug Ihrke of UW-Milwaukee will hold an information session at 11:00 am in Hyland 1302 regarding UW-Milwaukee's public administration programs. He will discuss the scope of the programs, how to prepare a successful application, and possible career trajectories. This session would be helpful for students interested in pursuing a MPA, MS, or PhD in public and nonprofit management. The room and location will be announced at a later date.
Bojana Zoric Martinez to Deliver John Kenneth Kyle Lecture, September 27, 2023
Bojana Zoric Martinez, Director of the Bureau of Refugee Programs and the Wisconsin State Refugee Coordinator, will deliver the John Kenneth Kyle lecture on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in the Summers Auditorium in the University Center on the UW-Whitewater campus. The evening will begin with a reception at 5:00 pm, followed by the lecture at 6:00 pm. Ms. Zoric Martinez will address the impact of the combined dynamics of government policy and support, and nonprofit service provision and advocacy on refugees in the United States.

Dr. Ruth Hansen, Assistant Professor of Management, and Megan Matthews, Senior Lecturer of Management, presented at the Wisconsin Nonprofit Management Summit on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Dr. Hansen discussed identifying, prioritizing, mapping claims, engaging with, and monitoring stakeholders. Megan Mathews discussed creating a workplace environment that fosters curiosity and innovation in organizations of all sizes.
Dr. Tyrone Freeman Lecture on "The Legacy and Lessons of Black Philanthropy", November 4, 2021
Tyrone Freeman, Professor of Philanthropic Studies and Director of Undergraduate Programs at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, provided an online presentation on "The Legacy and Lessons of Black Philanthropy" and shared insights from his new book, Madam C. J. Walker's Gospel of Giving: Black Women's Philanthropy during Jim Crow. Review recording.
