Feminism, Race, and White Privilege

Professor McLaughlin’s research is focused on racism and antiracism within women’s movements. In this talk, she will discuss findings from a study exploring white feminists’ perspectives on the approach to women’s liberation known as “intersectional feminism.” She describes participants’ beliefs about the significance of race in feminist spaces and considers how their beliefs impact the long-term goal of ending women’s oppression.
