We know you want your Warhawk to be successful. We do, too! Here are some resources that we hope will make your time on campus go more smoothly.

Visiting campus
We'd love to show you around acres of green spaces and gardens, academic buildings, residence halls, sports complexes, and other UW-Whitewater campus highlights. We offer campus tours most weekdays and the occasional Saturday.
UW-Whitewater offers free Wi-Fi to visitors without having to create an account.
Visiting campus? We offer convenient, economical rooms for commuter students, faculty, families and other guests affiliated with the university in Goodhue Hall, located next to the University Bookstore.
Visitors need a permit to park in campus lots except on the weekend (5 p.m. Friday through 11 p.m. Sunday). You can purchase a daily visitor permit online or at the Visitor Center during business hours.
Visitors are invited to enjoy any campus dining location. Anyone can use cash, card, tap pay, Dining Dollars, and Purple Points in any of the dining locations on campus. Students with the Weekly Meal Plan are also encouraged to use Guest Meals for anyone visiting in our all-you-care-to-eat dining halls.
You’ll find online and printable campus maps and driving directions to help you get here no matter where you are coming from.
Pick up your Warhawk gear and a host of other items — including gifts, technology tools and snacks — at the University Bookstore. They are open daily during the school year.
Before you visit, check out the arts, entertainment, sports and other events happening on campus. Check out the bustling University Center, with its movie theater, bowling alleys and pool tables, our art galleries, or The Young, our 1,300-seat performance venue.
Whitewater has a warm and welcoming downtown that’s a short walk, bike or drive from campus with vibrant shops, craft breweries and eateries. The region boasts of recreational lakes, mountain biking and hiking trails and more. We’ve gathered some of the best to share with our students, staff and visitors.
Stay informed

UW-Whitewater has a website where you can sign up for text updates about emergencies such as tornadoes, fire, and other events and for the emergency mobile app.

Stories about students, faculty and staff and programs are archived in our online story archive, which is searchable by year or key term.

This biweekly e-newsletter shares news, upcoming deadlines and key information with parents and family members of current Warhawks.

The Royal Purple is the student-run print and online newspaper at UW-Whitewater that provides information for students, faculty, staff and citizens about news and entertainment, as well as serving as an open forum for opinions.

Student living
Housing at UW-Whitewater is accessible, inclusive and designed with community and convenience in mind. And our residence life team is committed to creating a welcoming, positive, safe and enjoyable residential experience.
Whether it’s a made-to-order sandwich, a salad, or one of our signature house creations, we are sure to have something on the menu your student is guaranteed to love.
Our student ID card is an essential part of campus life at the UW-Whitewater and should be carried by Warhawks at all times. It also gets students into all sorts of events, workout facilities and more — for free!
One of the easiest ways for your Warhawk to get involved at UW-Whitewater is to join a student organization. With 180+ organizations, there is something for everyone!
Safety and wellness
The University Police Department has sworn officers and community safety officers on campus 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to serve the UW-Whitewater community — including helping students jump their cars. There’s a parents and visitors resource page with more details.
University Health and Counseling Services provides high-quality physical and mental health care, outreach, and consultation to all students.
The University Police Department provides a walking escort to all members of the university community upon request. A student can request an escort, which might be provided by a police officer or a campus service officer (CSO), at any time while on or near campus by calling 262-472-4660.
FERPA is the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act that sets forth requirements regarding the privacy of student records. FERPA governs the release of student education records maintained by the university and access to these records.
From fitness and aquatics to equipment rooms, Rec Sports is there with several campus locations to support students and their exercise and sports needs.
The Pantry provides a respectful, safe and inclusive environment for students and others to obtain food, toiletries, school supplies, and information about other resources available to them.
The Warhawk Success Closet offers enrolled students free professional attire, such as clothes, shoes and other accessories needed for an interview or internship.
Academics
The Academic Advising and Exploration Center (AAEC) and faculty and staff advisors work together to assist students with their transition to college and their development of an educational plan.
The Mary Poppe Chrisman Success Center is a state-of-the-art facility where students are paid to tutor, students are tutored for free, and students meet to study.
The One Stop resource center at UW-Whitewater helps students find answers to their questions — all in one accessible location.
UW-Whitewater offers summer sessions and sessions over winter break — called Winterim — designed to give students more scheduling flexibility and help them graduate on time.

The center provides personal finance and money management education to the campus community. Financial coaching session appointments are available to help your student better understand their finances, create a budget, manage credit, make a plan to pay for their education, or understand student loans.

Things to do on campus

UW-Whitewater has an events calendar where you can filter for arts and entertainment, athletics, academics and other events. Check out the available options to plan your visit to campus.

Located on the UW-Whitewater campus, the Young is one of southeast Wisconsin’s premier performing arts venues. This state-of-the-art facility features 1,300 seats and a 400-square-foot stage that hosts dozens of dance, music, theatre, comedy, and university events each year.

From NCAA Division III Warhawk athletics to our club and intramural teams, Warhawks know how to have fun competing in sports — and how to win. For information on where to buy tickets and for the latest team rankings, visit the official online home of Warhawk Athletics for all things sports-related.

The UC is the heart of campus, home to many dining locations as well as activities like bowling, pool, movies, an art gallery, gaming, and stages where free live events happen every month. It’s also where student organizations meet.

We have a 10-lane bowling alley, seven Brunswick billiards tables, video games, air hockey, ping pong, darts, board games, yard games and MORE! Located in the lower level of the UW, Warhawk Alley is easy for all students, staff and members of the community to join in on the fun!

From trivia nights, comedians and art workshops to live music, movies and dining, The Down Under in the University Center hosts hundreds of events every year, most at no extra cost to students.

Summers Auditorium in the University Center hosts popular movies every month throughout the school year. Movies are free with HawkCard, or just $5 without — cash and Purple Points are accepted.

The Center of the Arts hosts multiple theatres, the Crossman Art Gallery and the Young. Enjoy recitals, dance performances and plays featuring students, faculty and visiting artists.
