Jonathan Dellinger profile picture
Jonathan Dellinger is an assistant professor of health communication at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. His research agenda focuses on health behavior in new and emerging contexts, including human/human and human/machine interactions. Specifically, he is interested in fundamental social cognition as it influences the experience and performance of health beliefs and behaviors in different cultures. Previous work has focused on intercultural health communication; particularly the public health implications of inter and intra-group dynamics, reducing breast cancer disparities in vulnerable populations, and cross-cultural comparisons of dietary practices and health beliefs. His recent research explores the promotion of culture-affirming subsistence practices among the Anishinaabe community of Wisconsin using novel AI-powered tools. He hopes that his ongoing research will contribute to better understanding and measurement of quality of life, both in specific cultural contexts and for modern humans in general. His aim is to improve health and wellbeing in modern society by leveraging insights from different traditions and cultures.

His research expertise is in qualitative and quantitative methods (focus groups, psychometrics, factor analysis, path analysis, multiple linear regression). He is a veteran instructor of record with a decade of teaching experience in higher education.
