Outreach Program Manager - Camps and Conferences- Continuing Education - 21722
ATTENTION:
The Department of Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks an Outreach Program Manager (OE008).
JOB DETAILS:
Join the Camps and Conferences team in successfully hosting over 10,000 youth annually through camps, conferences, events and lessons.
The Outreach Program Manager provides guidance for program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and/or supervises outreach staff. Monitors budget and appropriate funding for programming. Promotes stable and productive relationships between the university and community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
The Outreach Program Manager is expected to be on campus 5 days a week unless otherwise specified. The selected candidate will need to support occasional events at the Main Campus, Rock Campus, Community Engagement Center and off-site events within the community. This could include evening, weekend and holiday hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in event management, business, project management or related field
- Demonstrated experience in event or project management
- Budget development and management experience
- Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholder audiences
- Demonstrated knowledge working with Microsoft Office Suite, Customer Service Management software and/or event registration software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth camps
- Experience working in higher education
- Demonstrated experience generating contracts and working with external groups
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interact respectfully with people with diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
- Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives
- Implement campus operating policies
- Develop and implement procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan
- Monitors the unit or program budget and approves program expenditures
- Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services
- Determines outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan
- May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
- Exercise supervisory authority of student staff team during summer and academic year
- Collaborates with campus marketing and technology to ensure accurate and timely promotion of camps and conferences
- Develops and strengthens relationships with camp directors through detailed event management (event preparation, day of management and event closeout)
- Work in partnership with campus entities, including: dining, housing, athletic trainers, etc. to ensure camp and conferences needs are met

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary of $56,000.00
