Lecturer of Biology - College of Integrated Studies - 21717
ATTENTION:
The College of Integrated Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County seeks a Lecturer for the 2025-2026 academic year to teach biology courses and who would also have the potential to serve as a lab technician.
This will be an academic staff fixed-term appointment with an anticipated course load of 23 credits (76.67% full-time equivalence) for the academic year. Reappointments for subsequent terms is dependent upon the needs of the University, funding, staffing requirements, enrollment, and external forces. JOB DETAILS:
Courses that are to be taught are from the following:
- BIO 101 - Concepts of Biology (an introductory five-credit course that involves both a lecture and laboratory component),
- BIO 105 - Medical Terminology (a one-credit lecture course)
- BIO 121 - Foundations of Biological Sciences I (a five-credit course that involves both a lecture and laboratory component),
- BIO 285 - Anatomy and Physiology (a four-credit course that involves both a lecture and laboratory component)
In addition, duties of a Laboratory Technician may be included in this job.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in biology or related field.
Desired Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to candidates with successful college course teaching experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in topics related to the above-mentioned courses.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations, including necessary training and drills.
- Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The selected candidate, in addition to teaching responsibilities, will hold appropriate office hours, attend orientation activities, and perform required course administration.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting salary of $50,000 commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications. This is for full-time salary. Employee salary will be calculated based on .7667 FTE
