“Movements are Born of Critical Connections Rather Than Critical Mass”: The Activism of Grace Lee Boggs

Born in 1915, Grace Lee Boggs was a Chinese American author, philosopher, activist and feminist. Her life’s work spanned a variety of social movements from civil rights to black power to feminism to labor equity. This talk will cover Boggs’ approach to social change, using her published writings as guidance. Grace Lee Boggs’ life and work are powerful primers for social justice work. In her own words, “movements are born of critical connections rather than critical mass.”

Lectures will be held on Mondays at 3 p.m. in the Olm Fellowship Hall of Fairhaven Senior Services, 435 West Starin Road, Whitewater. They are open to the public and registration is not required. Lectures may be recorded and posted to our Fairhaven Lecture website and YouTube channel. Videos of lectures in this series and in past series can be accessed for free any time after they are posted online.
