P. Roseman Excellence in Teaching Award is presented annually to a faculty member in recognition of outstanding teaching and the improvement of student learning.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;About the award&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Established in memory of W. P. Roseman, who directed the campus elementary school from 1919 to 1942, the award recognizes a tenured faculty member who has a record of sustained teaching excellence at either of UW-Whitewater's campuses for at least 6 years. The recipient is chosen by an all-university committee of faculty members and students.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;All nominees will be publicly announced and celebrated through university communication. The recipient of the award will:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Receive a physical and monetary award&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Have their name and photograph displayed in the Andersen Library for one year&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Carry the ceremonial mace at commencement ceremony during the following academic year&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Be recognized at university events&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Eligibility and selection process&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Each college submits one nominee for the award. College nominees are chosen according to criteria established by the respective colleges.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A candidate's nomination materials should provide evidence for critical reflection of teaching, impact on students, student-centered pedagogy, innovative approaches, and scholarship and professional development of teaching and learning. The single PDF consist of the following documents:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A current curriculum vita.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A two-page statement of teaching philosophy including evidence of impact on students, student learning, and/or student success&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A table summary of student evaluations for courses taught during the past three years including department averages and student comments, if available. For context, a copy of the course evaluation form and a short paragraph to explain any special circumstances can be included.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Two different examples (up to two pages per example) that illustrate engaging activities, assignments, or pedagogy. Examples may include, but are not limited to, an assignment description, a rubric for assessing an assignment, use of media in teaching a concept, or evidence of innovation in teaching.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Three letters of recommendation from students for the W. P. Roseman Excellence in Teaching Award. At least one should be from a current student attending UW-Whitewater.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A letter of support from a current or former UW-Whitewater faculty or staff member addressing the nominee's qualifications as an outstanding teacher.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The recipient of this award is selected by a committee composed of one student representative and one faculty representative from each academic college, with a designee from the Provost's Office chairing the committee.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Nominations&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Deadline: February 15&lt;/p&gt;
