APPLICATION INFORMATION Interested students should submit the following by the specified deadline to <a href="mailto:artscholarship@uww.edu">artscholarship@uww.edu</a> to be considered for scholarships:  <ul> <li>AAR (Academic Advising Report) in PDF file format.</li> <li>Artist Statement (Word doc) Submit a brief artist statement of potential for success in the area of chosen major. (1-2 pages, Times New Roman Font, 12 point). </li> <li>Digital Portfolio of 5-7 artworks (Word doc, Letter Size)</li> <li>Numbered Image list with the title (Class, Title of project, Size, media, and year completed). (Example: 1. Painting1_Untitled_16x20_Oil_F2019) <ul> <li>Please place one image under the title per page.</li> <li>Each Image (JPEG file format) should not exceed 1000 pixels width either height or width (no bigger than 7 inches width).</li> <li>Three-dimensional work may require multiple views. No more than 3 images per project may be submitted for each three-dimensional artwork or multiple-page publication projects. If all work is three-dimensional, then a total of 21 images may be submitted. </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <hr /> Only students returning as full-time students (minimum 12 credits each semester) for the next academic year will be considered for scholarships. Students who do not complete and submit applications to the Art and Design office by the deadline will not be allowed to participate in the Scholarship Review. All the faculty in the department will review your work and make recommendations to the Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship Committee will then make the final decision and award scholarships. If you receive a scholarship, you will be required to participate in the scheduled college/department scholarship events in the College Scholarship Celebration in the fall. Amy E Arntson Scholarship This scholarship is available to Art and Design majors and supports students with a broad area of interest and demonstrated ability in the field of art and design. The ideal candidate combines a commitment to Graphic Design and/or Media Arts and Game Development with a strong interest in a traditional fine arts studio area.  Beth Blumberg Scholarship This scholarship is available to Art and Design majors who are either current or continuing Freshman. The scholarship is to encourage students at the beginning of their academic careers and in the early stage of their development as artists. The Mark Palmer Gray, Jr. Endowed Art Scholarship  The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarship support to deserving, talented and promising art students at UW-Whitewater. The candidate(s) may be an accepted freshman at the time of application but must have an intention to declare a major within the Department of Art and Design. Minimum 2.5 CUM GPA.  Edna Grinstead This scholarship is available to Art and Design majors. It is intended to support and encourage students with both artistic talent and commitment to successful academic performance. Excellence in Printmaking This scholarship is available to Art and Design majors. Preference is given to students with a demonstrated expertise in the printmaking. Mary Weiser Art Scholarship This scholarship is available to Art and Design majors. It recognizes and awards academic excellence in creative art forms or art history. Raymond E & Zenobia R Light Memorial The selection of the recipient of this scholarship will be based upon the quality of demonstrated performance or achievement as an arts major. Contact department for discipline specific submission requirements. Roberta Avonn Fiskum This scholarship is available to Art and Design majors who are either BA or BFA with Graphic Design emphasis. Students must demonstrate excellence in the field of Graphic Design through their portfolio. One or multiple scholarships may be awarded in an academic year. The Patty Stricker Scholarship This scholarship shall be made only to students enrolled at the UW-Whitewater who have a declared major in the College of Arts and Communication's Department of Art and Design. The Candidate must be in their third year (at a minimum) of their undergraduate career at the time of the award. Decision Factors: Minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA, Financial Need, Demonstrated creative talent, Engagement in the creation of original artwork. The Stacia Lane Endowed Art Scholarship This Scholarship shall be awarded to a student with a declared major within the Department of Art and Design. Preference will be given to a student who has completed six (6) credits in painting. The scholarship shall be awarded every year to candidate of junior or senior status with 2.5 CUM GPA.
