ATTENTION:

The Department of Finance and Business Law in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a Lecturer (non-tenure track) in Finance (Lecturer, TL020).

 

JOB DETAILS:

The Department of Finance and Business Law at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is seeking a highly motivated professional in Finance. This Lecturer position is a full-time, renewable, nine-month Academic Staff (non-tenure track) appointment commencing in January 2025. Depending on the circumstances, a commencement date of August 2025 will also be considered. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Areas of teaching will include undergraduate courses in Finance. The teaching load is four classes per semester. Office hours and service commitments are also required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have a Master's Degree in Finance or a related field
  • Professional experience in Finance
  • Ability and desire to be a student organization advisor


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience

  • Willingness and Ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include teaching four courses per semester in our undergraduate program and providing service to the Department and the College. Teaching will be predominately in the areas of Personal Finance and Business Finance. The successful candidate should have the ability and desire to also teach courses in other areas of Finance, including Investments, Real Estate, Financial Planning, Banking, and Insurance. On campus and online teaching are both possible. Service may include committee work and / or student organization advising. The successful candidate must also have experience or a strong interest in serving as a faculty advisor in student organizations as well as demonstrate potential to be an outstanding teacher and active contributor of professional, university, and community service.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:

The Finance and Business Law Department is one of the seven departments in the College of Business and Economics There are 19 full-time faculty and staff members supporting nearly 700 undergraduate (with majors, minors, and emphases in general Finance, investments, financial planning, real estate, insurance, banking, and business law) and graduate students enrolled in the Master of Science in Finance. The College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is the largest AACSB-accredited business school in the state of Wisconsin. The College enrolls approximately 3,500 business undergraduate students, offering 15 majors and 26 emphases. Nearly 1,000 graduate students are enrolled in a breadth of online and on-campus programs, including the Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Cybersecurity, Master of Science in Data Analytics, Master of Science in Environmental Health and Safety, Master of Science in Finance, Master of Science in Marketing, Master of Science in Education in School Business Management, Master of Science in Applied Biotechnology, and the Doctorate of Business Administration.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Well-qualified candidates can expect a salary range of $65,000-$70,000, commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications.
